John Hiccoks Coat of Arms Edward Hiccox Coat of Arms
Another coat of arms which bears the name Hiccox, has been attributed to Edward Hiccox, Esquire, of "Landed Gentry", of Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, England. It is believed that William Hickocks, the first ancestor known of the Hickok family in America, was the son of Edward Hicccox of "Landed Gentry", of Stratford-on-Avon, but that has not been proven by any existing records. Since the name of William Hiccox  father has not been verified, the American family of Hickok can not claim this Arms and until further records are discovered, no evidence is found to prove the right of the Hickoks in America, to claim either of these two Coats-of-Arms, by inheritance
The only Arms officially registered in the name of Hickok (Hiccox), or any spelling variation thereof, November 1707, were to John Hiccoks of Lincoln's Inn, County Middlesex, Esquire. John Hiccoks was son of William; of South Lambeth, Surrey. There is no indication that his family had any immediate association with Stratford-on-Avon Hickocks.
