I personally don't have a problem with businesses not allowing concealed carry onto their property. But I do have a problem with allowing someone to steal my loaded gun from my vehicle. The solution is for businesses to have a handgun check in, just like in like the old west. Or shop somewhere else. The choice is theirs!!!!!

May 22, 2007 - Governor Phil Bredesen (D) signed House Bill 1907, the “Castle Doctrine” self-defense bill, into law.HB 1907, sponsored by State Representative Randy Rinks (D-71), would allow an individual to use deadly force to protect him or herself wherever they have a legal right to be. The bill also provides civil immunity for those who defend themselves from criminal attack. The "Castle Doctrine" simply says that if a criminal breaks into your home, your occupied vehicle or your place of business, you may presume they are there to do bodily harm and you may use any force necessary against them. The Castle Doctrine also includes temporary dwelling, such as a mobile home or tents. The Castle Doctrine also expands the use of self-defense when protecting a third party, such as a relative or an invited guest who is staying in someone else’s home. Furthermore, this law provides protection from criminal prosecution and civil litigation for those who defend themselves from criminal attack. And lastly, The Castle Doctrine removes the “duty to retreat” if you are attacked in any place you have a legal right to be.

Bill Summary for SB3239 / *HB2860 (May soon change) Present law prohibits any person from possessing a firearm, bow and arrow, shotgun, or rifle in, on, or while traversing any refuge, public hunting area, or wildlife management area frequented or inhabited by big game except during specified or lawful open seasons on these areas. This bill authorizes any person who has a concealed carry permits to possess a firearm the entire year while traversing any refuge, public hunting area, or wildlife management area.

Bill Summary for HB3857 / *SB2928 Firearms and Ammunition - Prohibits governor from commandeering firearms or suspending sale of ammunition during state of emergency; prohibits state, public officials and local governments from imposing additional restrictions on firearms and ammunition during state of emergency or disaster. - Amends TCA Section 58-2-107.
